On Saturday, May 15, 2010, St. Paul electrified Lavish Lounge. From
beginning to end, St. Paul wooed the audience with his energetic stage
presence, rhythmic beats, and tranquil lyrics that transported everyone in
attendance straight to the island of Jamaica from which the origin of his
music is reflected. For those who don't know who St. Paul is better get to
know him and know him fast.
There were several local acts prior to St. Paul which included Black Fire,
Julian Abay, & Marsbe Kulture. But it was St. Paul and his fresh, captivating songstress-Kee J,that took over the show. Like a man musically possessed, St.Paul began his dominance with Your Best Friend- a playful and direct song of attraction gained through an innocent conversation between friends and effortlessly segued
into Jah Children where he paid homage to the children of Haiti.
However, it was Quiet Place that took the audience to a place where they
wanted to create their own solitary island of peace. St. Paul was able to
show his versatile performance when he demanded the Lion of Judah Sound band
to slow it down and he sang "how he turned his cellular phone and put away
his laptop" just to create a quiet place. But don't just take my word for
it. Look out for clips at http://stpaulmusic.info/index.html
